For postgraduate study opportunities in South Africa under the name Canon Collins Sol Plaatje Postgraduate Scholarships for the academic year 2023–2024, the Canon Collins Trust is working in conjunction with the Sol Plaatje Educational Project and is currently taking applications.
The study program will support Masters and PhD level studies at a South African university on a full- or part-time basis and will take applications from people who prefer to study remotely.
A vibrant community of leaders, intellectuals, activists, and social justice groups is what the Canon Collins Trust seeks to build. By offering assistance in the form of grants for projects, funding for higher education and research, and sponsoring international events, we are able to do this. The intersection of activism and research is fostered by our unique strategy, which brings these two fields together.

CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for Sol Plaatje Postgraduate Scholarships, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
- Be a national of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries: Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe
- Applicant must be a normal resident in one of the above countries
- Be in possession of a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or about to graduate in the year of application
- Be studying or applying to study at a South African university.
Eligible Countries: Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe
Eligible Course or Subjects: Applicants can apply for a postgraduate degree programme those studying in three areas:
1. Justice, which includes Climate Justice, Law, Economics and Politics
2. Education policy and practice
3. Humanities, which includes Literature, History, Anthropology and the Arts

How to Apply: Students are required to submit an application for their postgraduate study in a South African University. A scholarship application can be submitted here.
